Padres pitching prospects Dylan Lesko, Ryan Bergert make 2024 debuts; Woo-Suk Go throws for Double-A San Antonio
Dylan Lesko opened high Single-A Fort Wayne’s game with four no-hit innings and five pitchers combined on a one-hitter in a 2-0 win at Great Lakes on Sunday. Top prospect Ethan Salas caught all nine innings and went 1-for-4 with a walk, his second steal and a run scored. Lesko struck out one, walked three and hit a batter. Left-hander Miguel Cienfuegos struck out five over two perfect innings for the win. Left-hander Ryan Och struck out the side in the ninth for his first save.
Round Rock 9, Chihuahuas 6: RHP Randy Vasquez allowed six runs in 4 ⅓ innings in the loss. LHP Adrián Morejón struck out two in a scoreless inning and RHP Kevin Kopps struck out one in a scoreless seventh. 3B Clay Dungan drove in three runs and finished a home run shy of the cycle. SS Mason McCoy drove in two runs on two hits.
Missions 9, Amarillo 4: RHP Ryan Bergert struck out five over four innings of one-run ball in the start. RHP Woo-Suk Go allowed two runs on four hits in the ninth. RHP Raul Brito threw two scoreless innings in the win. 3B Marcos Castañon and 3B Connor Hollis both hit their first homers and RF Zach Reks drove in three runs on two hits, including a double. 1B Nathan Martorella went 3-for-5 with a double.
