The Boys & Girls Club of Dundee Township have received $2 million in federal funding secured by U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi to transform an old school into the Woodlands Impact Center in Carpentersville.

The Boys & Girls Club of Dundee Township gifted U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi Friday with a photo of club members as a thank you for securing $2 million in federal funds for the club’s new Woodlands Impact Center in Carpentersville.

“I’m so honored to be able to help,” Krishnamoorthi said. “I can’t wait to see them after this program and what they are going to do.”U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Schaumburg, presented a ceremonial $2 million check Friday to the Boys & Girls Club of Dundee Township, representing the federal grant that will be used for the organization's new Woodlands Impact Center in Carpentersville.

Members attend nine elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, Glassford said. The Woodlands center will serve students who attend Sunny Hill Elementary School, he said. “It’s always the highlight of my day to meet young people,” the congressman said. “They are the most energetic, enthusiastic, candid and honest people you’re going to meet.”
