The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-6 has prepared P89-million worth of food packs and other relief items for residents of Western Visayas who may be affected by super typhoon “Mawar.” ManilaBulletin
“We assure the public that the agency has enough food and non-food items that are ready for relief augmentation to local government units should the need arises,” said DSWD-6 Director Carmelo Nochete.There are 38,451 food packs at the warehouse in Oton town, Iloilo province; 13,592 food packs at the warehouse in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental province; 2,700 food packs at Lipata Port in Culasi town, Antique province; and 38,451 food packs with 37 partner LGUs across the region.
The DSWD-6 also has P42.5-million worth of non-food items composed of hygiene kits, sleeping kits, family kits, kitchen kits, tents, and laminated sacks in storage.
