DSWD distributes P127.7-M cash aid to fisherfolk affected by Mindoro oil spill
According to the DSWD, about 14,291 individuals from the informal and formal fishing sectors from the municipalities of Baco, Bansud, Bongabong, Bulalacao, Gloria, Mansalay, Naujan, Pinamalayan, Roxas, San Teodoro, Socorro, Victoria, and Calapan City are set to receive financial aid under the Emergency Cash Transfer program.
On Monday, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources recommended keeping the fishing ban in the towns of Pola, Pinamalayan, and Naujan as traces of oil slicks remain in the coastal municipalities. —
