Harry Potter scribe Steve Kloves is writing the screenplay for Drowning, a new plane crash movie that's being directed by Paul Greengrass.
, who is known for helming 2004’s The Bourne Supremacy, 2006’s United 93, 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum, 2013’s Captain Phillips, 2016’s Jason Bourne, and 2020’s News of the World, among other titles.
Kloves wrote the screenplays for all eight films in the Harry Potter franchise, while he also served as a producer on the three Fantastic Beasts movies. He additionally co-wrote 2022’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledoore and 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, among other titles.“A plane crashes in the Pacific Ocean six minutes after takeoff and is flooded after an explosion during evacuation,” Deadline’s description of the plot reads.
Greengrass will produce the movie alongside Shane Salerno, The Story Factory, and Greg Goodman, while Newman and Amy Lord will serve as executive producers. Prior to Drowning, Greengrass is first making The Lost Bus, a new Blumhouse thriller movie that stars Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera. “The story centers on Kevin McKay and Mary Ludwig , a bus driver and teacher who lead a school bus full of young students through the Camp Fire,” the synopsis for The Lost Bus reads.Brandon Schreur has been writing about comics, movies, television shows, and all things pop culture for roughly five years.
