Goku's iconic pose returns in a new way.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Starting in 2015, Dragon Ball Super had art by Toyotaro, instead of Akira Toriyama, who illustrated the previous Dragon Ball manga series. Since then, the artist has more than proven his ability to handle the series masterfully. Having learned to draw from Toriyama's Dragon Ball to begin with, new panels continually prove that he is the right person to have been handling the series this entire time.

Comparing panels illustrated by Toyotaro with some from Dragon Ball Z done by Toriyama, it's easy to see how much artistic influence the iconic mangaka had on his successor. This is particularly true since Toyotaro isn't told HOW to draw each chapter, just what happens within it. In Dragon Ball Z Chapter 32, "The Mystery of the Kaio-ken," Goku fights against Nappa. This foe was partnered with Vegeta and Raditz when the trio came to try and conquer Earth. After defeating the warrior from Planet Vegeta with a final blow, Goku holds him over his head, as Gohan and Krillin watch nearby. Goku then tosses him at Vegeta's feet, instructing him to take his companion home and stay away from Earth.
