Katharine Grawe, who also is known as Dr. Roxy at her practice Roxy Plastic Surgery in Powell, can never practice again in Ohio.
Grawe’s license was suspended in November after three patients filed lawsuits against her. WCMH reports all three needed additional medical care after undergoing surgery by Grawe.
“This case isn’t about some antiquated view of social media. ... These patients trusted Dr. Roxy because of what they saw on social media,” a state lawyer arguing for the license suspension said Wednesday, the. “She made major surgeries with potentially life-altering complications seem like one big party.”
Grawe said the accusations against her have led to the breakup of her marriage. She also said her kids have been attacked at their school, the Dispatch reports.A former patient who successfully sued Grawe in 2019, Mary Jenkins, tells WCMH that the board’s decision might bring closure to patients who had complications after Grawe’s procedures. Jenkins said the tissue of her breast reconstruction died after her procedure by Grawe.
