THE Department of Public Works and Highways has successfully implemented the P15 million farm-to-market concreting project, providing safer and convenient travel to residents in one of the villages in Zamboanga City.In a statement Monday, December 16, 2024, the DPWH -Zamboanga Peninsula said the FMR concreting project was implemented at Sitio Licopon, Barangay Bolong, 34 kilometers east of the city proper.
'Previously, residents struggled to navigate the unpaved roads, especially during the rainy season, which turned pathways into a muddy route,' the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula said in a statement. 'This condition hindered access to basic services and made transporting goods to downtown a challenge,' the DPWH added. The completed FMR road concreting project covers a total length of 480 lane meters and a five-meter carriageway width.
