DOUGLAS, Ariz. — A wide-reaching molestation case has ended with a Douglas man facing 17 years in prison for crimes against children, the city police department announced.launched an investigation after allegations of sex crimes began to circulate in the Douglas community. During the investigation, several young victims came forward and the suspect was eventually identified as Douglas resident 30-year-old Javier Bernardo Mejia.
After entering a plea deal, Mejia was sentenced on April 12 to 17 years in prison with lifetime probation and sex offender registration upon his release.
