STAFF REPORT In cooperation with the Alabama Forestry Commission and the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens, the City of Dothan will host several activities in celebration of Arbor Day on Thursday.
Activities on Thursday will include a special tree planting ceremony at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens at 10 a.m. Mayor Mark Saliba will be present to welcome guests and Brady Dunn from the Alabama Forestry Commission will provide comments. This year, a Live Oak tree will be planted at the Gardens in honor of all Alabama farmers. Other speakers include Dan Williams, City of Dothan horticulturist, and Adam Temple of Temple Farms.
People are also reading… Visitors are encouraged to stay and enjoy the Garden trails. At 11 a.m., AFC forester Ed Lewis will lead a short tree identification walk inside the garden.
