President Donald Trump praised the Chiefs for their Super Bowl win but initially congratulated Kansas, not Missouri.
Donald Trump posted a message to his verified Twitter account late Sunday night, moments after the Chiefs toppled the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV in Miami Gardens, Florida.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure,” Trump posted Sunday night in a message to his verified Twitter account. “You represented the Great State of Kansas and, in fact, the entire USA, so very well. Our Country is PROUD OF YOU!” The Chiefs, however, are based in Kansas City, Missouri, not in Kansas City, Kansas.
