Department of Health Secretary Dr. Teodoro "Ted" Herbosa advised the public to refrain from sightseeing near the restive Mayon Volcano due to health risks associated with its gas and dust particle emissions.
"Yung emissions nyan may sulfur and sulfur dioxide, kumakabit sa hemoglobin yan nakakapoison ng dugo,tapos yung dust naman yung ash can stick sa lungs natin ," the DOH chief said in a media briefing on Sunday, June 11. "Remember there is a concomitant health risk for being close to the eruption because of inhaling sulfur dioxide gas or the particulate matter," he reminded.Advisory from the tourism department
