LRT2 rides during peak hours will be free of charge on May 1 (Labor Day) for Filipino workers, the Department of Labor and Employment said Saturday.
In a statement, the DOLE said it requested the Department of Transportation to provide free rides to workers during peak periods from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on May 1.Passengers are urged to undergo the usual frisking and baggage inspection by LRT Line 2 management and shall follow rules and regulations, including the mandatory wearing of face masks.
Likewise, the DOLE said jobseekers who will go to the various job fair sites in the National Capital Region will benefit from the free rides. The LRT Line 2 has 13 stations namely: Recto, Legarda, Pureza, V.Mapa, J.Ruiz, Gilmore, Betty Go-Belmonte, Araneta Center-Cubao, Anonas, Katipunan, Santolan, Marikina-Pasig, and Antipolo.
