The Department of Health (DOH) said that the Covid-19 bivalent vaccines will be given first to identified priority sectors as they need to also consider the quantity of vaccines that will initially arrive in the country.
Coronavirus vaccines have been prepared for distribution at a vaccination site in Manila on May 18, 2021.
At present, the DOH is still in talks with vaccine manufacturers for the procurement of bivalent vaccines, said DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire. “Base sa mga pinag-usapan ng mga eksperto, may initial na silang rekomendasyon kung anong mga sektor ang maka-receive ng bivalent vaccines natin. Pero we cannot disclose now because we are also finalizing as to the number of quantities that we will receive,” said Vergeire.
The Health official also said that this strategy was also done during the early part of the Covid-19 vaccination program.
