A total of 185 new people were confirmed to have been infected with the Covid-19 virus, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Sunday, March 19.
The region with the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks was the National Capital Region with 564.
It was followed by Davao Region with 288 infections, Calabarzon with 233, Soccsksargen with 191, and Northern Mindanao with 167. To date, the Philippines has logged 4,078,994 confirmed Covid-19 cases. Of this figure, 4,003,432 cases were tagged as recoveries while 66,272 patients succumbed to the viral disease.
The DOH still reminded Filipinos to not let their guards down despite improvements in the country's current Covid-19 situation. "Everyone is still encourage to apply our layers of protection---such as wearing of masks, isolating when sick, ensuring good airflow, and most importantly getting vaccinated---as this remain to be effective against the Covid-19 virus," it said.
