The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, Dec. 22, registered 1,031 more cases of Covid-19.

Active infections or patients still battling with Covid-19 across the country were at 16,900, latest data from the DOH showed.

Among the regions with the most cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 5,346, followed by Calabarzon with 2,339; Central Luzon with 1,126; Western Visayas with 624; and Ilocos Region with 530.Of the total, 3,977,297 were tagged as recoveries and 65,172 were deaths related to Covid-19.

Hospital bed occupancy in the country remains at low risk classification at 21.7 percent with 6,011 beds occupied, while 21,708 were vacant, the DOH said.
