The Department of Health ordered intensified surveillance for arriving individuals, particularly those from China, at all ports of entry amid the reported explosion of Covid-19 cases there. DoH Officer in Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire ordered directors of Centers for Health Development to coordinate with various agencies, intergovernmental bodies and local government units to monitor and support the increased implementation of border control protocols.
