“Of this 17 million, around 6 million are ‘quarantined,’ meaning we are still waiting for the evidence and the application of our manufacturers for us to extend shelf life,” she added.“So yung iba naman, meron pa din tayo remaining na magla-last pa siya hanggang kalahati ng taon ang kanyang expiry date. Meron naman within the 1st quarter maaari nang magexpire. And meron din portion na second quarter pa expiry,” she said.due to expiration and operational wastage.
As to the state of calamity for COVID-19 lapsing, Vergeire said, “Alam natin in both cases yung state of calamity and public health emergency, maari pa rin po gamitin ang existing stocks of COVID-19 sa ating bansa.” Meanwhile, she said COVID-19 vaccines were proven to be effective despite the detection of new variants.
