Immunocompromised individuals are the first to be eligible to receive a second Covid-19 vaccine booster shot once the measure is implemented, said DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III.
In this file photo taken on February 17, 2021 a nurse administers the Covid-19 vaccine to an elderly patient at the Dunkirk hospital. French Prime Minister announced on March 12, 2022 the opening of the fourth dose of vaccine “to the over 80s who have received their booster dose for more than three months”, in the face of the slight rebound in the Covid epidemic, in an interview with Le Parisien.
“Sa ngayon, ang aking inaprubahan batay sa rekomendasyon ng Health Technology Assessment Council ay yung second booster dose para lamang sa mga immunocompromised ,” he added. Duque said they are hoping to roll out the second booster shot in this sector by next week as the guidelines are still being finalized. One of the aspects being discussed currently is the vaccination sites.
“Antabayanan nalang natin yung mas detalyadong issuance ng National Vaccination and Operations Center ,” he added. The administration of a second booster shot for healthcare workers and senior citizens is still under review, said the Health chief.
