It took police, firefighters and Medford Neighborhood Services nearly six hours Saturday to dig up the ground and remove the pet from the 18-inch pipe, police said.“When he was brought in, he had wounds all over his body and limbs,” said Dr. Robert Mankowski, co-owner of the animal hospital.
The pup was given several medicines and antibiotics over the past few days, as vets cared for his wounds.“For a dog in foster care to get confused and wander off is not a surprise, but in this situation, he wound up stuck down a drain pipe, which is very unusual,” Mankowski said.“He is very lucky to be recovering so quickly,” Mankowski said.
