The city of St. Augustine, along with St. Johns County Utilities, will host a special community recycling event early next year.
Household hazardous waste are not accepted at this event. This includes TVs, paint, light bulbs, chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, motor oil, etc.As the community continues to celebrate the holiday season with special meals and extra cooking of meats, sauces, butter, and dairy, remember that improperly disposing of fats, oils and grease down the drain can clog pipes and cause sewage backups in your home or in the public sewer system.
This includes any used cooking oil, such as vegetable oil, peanut oil, canola oil, deep-fryer oil, etc. Throughout the year, the city of St. Augustine accepts all recyclable materials daily during regular business hours, at the Solid Waste Facility and at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at
