The mandatory Subscriber Identity Module card registration will end on April 26, 2023, the Department of Information and Communications Technology said.DICT Spokesperson Anna Mae Lamentillo, in a press statement on Thursday, Jan. 12, disclosed that Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy is hoping that Filipinos will “avoid last-minute SIM registrations.”

“We want to remind the public to register early because all unregistered SIMs will be deactivated once the registration period ends on April 26, 2023,” Lamentillo stressed. Currently, only 10.47 percent of the nearly 170 million SIM subscribers in the Philippines have so far registered. The mandatory registration began on Dec. 27, 2022.
