Out of 900 competing entries for this year’s competition, the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Cybersecurity Education Program emerged as one of the most outstanding ICT projects at the World Summit on Information Society Prizes.

The winning project called “Cybersecurity Education in the Philippines in the Face of New Normal Adversities” has helped the DICT in training more than 70,000 Filipinos on cybersecurity and data privacy among others at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This is a testament to our commitment to promoting and advancing ICT innovation and excellence in the government sector. We accept the challenge that this award presents and we will continue to strive for excellence in our work,” said Uy.
