Citing updates from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, the DFA also said at least 86 Filipinos in the North African country have sought repatriation. “In coordination with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Khartoum, our Embassy in Cairo is preparing for an ATN Mission to Sudan to facilitate evacuation and provide relief goods to Filipinos there,” said the DFA.
Tensions flared during negotiations to integrate the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces into the Sudanese military as part of plans to restore civilian rule.
