The Department of Foreign Affairs on Friday announced that it has canceled the Philippine passport of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo .In a press statement, the DFA said the cancellation of Guo's passport took effect on September 30, 2024 by virtue of Section 10 of Republic Act No. 11983 or the New Philippine Passport Law, to wit: Section 10. Ground for Denial of Issuance of Passport; Cancellation of Passport; or Imposition of Restrictions on Passports.
The DFA said it is committed to upholding the security and integrity of issuing Philippinepassports. It also assured the public that fraudulent application and acquisition of passports are referred to law enforcement agencies for investigation and prosecution.The DFA also enforces Zero Tolerance Policy for unscrupulous individuals circumventing the Philippine passport application and issuance procedures.
