MANILA, Philippines — Seventy-two overseas Filipino workers rescued from Sudan are expected to arrive on Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
According to DFA spokesperson Teresita Daza, 330 OFWs were repatriated last May 7, and 40 migrant workers returned to the Philippines on May 8.With the arrival of 72 more OFWs, Daza said the total number of repatriates is now at 442. Last May 5, Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople said several companies in the United States and Saudi Arabia expressed willingness to hire OFWs who were displaced due to the civil conflict of paramilitaries in Sudan.
