There is no question that the chest glitch made Menagerie the best farm in Destiny series history. But it's still relevant, even 'fixed.'
It’s here, the dawn of the final day where in just a few hours, the most generous glitch inBungie has let it run wild for weeks now, but all good things, specifically, crazily good, potentially gamebreaking things, must come to an end. The Menagerie chest, which let you open it 5-6 times at the end of every run for 7-9 drops of a specific weapon or piece of armor, will be patched to simply open once like it was originally supposed to.
This move has led many people to say they’ll never play Menagerie again after the change, and to that I say…hah, yeah okay.series history. Not only were you getting a ton of loot, you were getting a ton ofloot, which made it easy to chase rolls. But the fact remains that even with the glitch removed and that 7-9 drops per run turns into 1-2, there is still no better farm in the game. There just isn’t.. You cannot pick a specific Gambit, Crucible or Vanguard weapon and target farm it for rolls.
You have 28 different weapons including some of the best world drops in the game and the Menagerie weapons which are almost all greatYou can get one drop after 15 minutes of one matchmade activity, possibly two with double Chalice drops Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Menagerie will remain relevant going forward because it remains one of the only places in the game where you can farm for powerful drops for specific gear slots. Every week, you get three powerful drops from Menagerie, and you canwhich slot that drops in.
With that said, I do hope Bungie starts to bring other activities up to the level of Menagerie. We should be getting a weapon drop every Reckoning run. We should be able to have a system to work toward getting targeted drops from Vanguard, Gambit and Crucible vendors rather than eternally relying on RNG alone. We should cut out some of the busywork steps of the Forge frames.
