DESPITE the devastating damage to agriculture caused by El Niño and the upcoming rainy season, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said the country’s economy is still poised to achieve a high growth next year.

DESPITE the devastating damage to agriculture caused by El Niño and the upcoming rainy season, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said the country’s economy is still poised to achieve a high growth next year.

The Department of Agriculture reported during the weekend that the agricultural damage from El Niño has soared to P9.89 billion. Marcos attributed the optimistic projection to the government’s successful efforts to curb the country’s inflation rate, which still remains within the 2 percent to 4 percent inflation rate target this year.
