In a statement, the DepEd said the BER 2023 aims to lay out the state of basic education in the Philippines as well as the plans and initiatives of the agency.

According to DepEd, it intends "to provide a broad report about the basic education sector which will include updates on the on-going review of the K to 12 curriculum.

"Meanwhile, according to Palace press briefer Daphne Paez, Education Secretary Sara Duterte presented the plans for inclusive learning, support for teachers, and improving the curriculum during the Cabinet meeting.
