The Department of Education (DepEd) will meet with concerned agencies to discuss transportation issues in light of the planned implementation of 100% face-to-face classes in November, DepEd Undersecretary Toni Umali said in an Unang Balita interview.
"Kahapon po, yung aming chief of staff, si Usec. Epimaco Densing, ay nagbigay po ng pahayag na magkakaroon po ng pagpupulong sa mga ahensya na may kinalaman para maibsan yung isyu na nabanggit ninyo. So tingnan natin kung ano ang mangyayari sa pagpupulong," DepEd Undersecretary Toni Umali said in an Unang Balita interview.
Umali was responding to a question on DepEd's coordination with other agencies about transportation issues that could affect students and teachers once face-to-face classes start.for the return of original routes assigned to public utility jeepneys after the announcement of the resumption of 100% in-person classes.
Pasang Masda and PISTON warned that the current routes of public utility vehicles may not be adequate to provide rides to students once they begin travelling to and from schools. According to Pasang Masda, the routes were affected by the nationalization program earlier imposed by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
