Demolition has begun at the Richmond Town Square mall site in Richmond Heights to make room for the $300-million Belle Oaks Marketplace mixed-use development. California-based developer DealPoint Merrill announced plans for the large, two phase development in 2019, which led to much anticipation for the start of demolition.

Along with the Sears purchase came an announcement that DealPoint would build a $69-million development on the mall’s north end, including the large Sears parking lot, that would include 375 apartments, retail and a possible hotel.
