Sen. Kamala Harris stuck tightly to her script bashing Trump at every turn. “On trade policy, he reminds me of that guy in ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ When you pull back the curtain, it's a really small dude,” she said.

With nine other candidates onstage and hundreds in the audience, Kamala Harris kicked off Thursday night’s debate in Houston by addressing an audience of one: Donald Trump.

On Thursday, Biden decided to go on the attack and take on the two primary rivals threatening his first place status — Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders — over health care, prompting a lengthy debate that pitted the more moderate candidates from the more progressive ones. Warren said that “middle-class families are going to pay less” with the middle-man of insurance companies gone, giving one of the better applause lines: “I've actually never met anybody who likes their health insurance company.”“Let us be clear, Joe, in the United States of America,” he said, “we have spending twice as much per capita on health care as the Canadians or any other major country on Earth.”poster="http://v.politico.

But Castro, pointing to his poor grandmother’s struggles with diabetes, criticized Biden’s plan for leaving 10 million uninsured people and said former President Obama “wanted every single person in this country covered. My plan would do that. Your plan would not.”That’s when Castro sprung. Castro then cut him off: “That's called the Democratic primary election, Pete. That's called an election. That's an election. You know? This is what we're here for. It's an election.”

“Hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15, your AK-47,” he said to raucous applause. “We’re not gonna allow it to be used against fellow Americans anymore.”poster="http://v.politico.com/images/1155968404/201909/3263/1155968404_6085827928001_6085823265001-vs.jpg?pubId=1155968404" Businessman Andrew Yang was asked the first question about the issue and said that, while he didn’t like the tariffs, he wouldn’t immediately eliminate them.

And former Housing Secretary Julian Castro focused on the plight Uighurs in China and said that “in North Korea, this president is elevating a dictator. We need to stop that. We need to return to ensuring that America leads again on human rights.”
