Detained former senator Leila de Lima on Thursday said she is accepting the apology of former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam.

According to Cam, she helped obtain supposed evidence against the former senator.

De Lima has been detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center inside Camp Crame since February 2017 over allegations that she benefitted from the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison when she was Justice secretary. "We all have a chance at redemption. Hindi likas sa tao ang kasamaan. As I have said, I have long forgiven & left to God those who were used or allowed themselves to be used to spread lies against me," said De Lima, who has repeatedly denied the charges against her.
