A Washington, D.C., man was shot and killed Friday morning while he was walking with a 5-year-old and carrying a car seat holding an infant.
The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. while the man was walking by an apartment in Northeast D.C., according to police.“This is a really disturbing event, and we really need the public’s help in this,” Cmdr. William FitzGerald of the Metropolitan Police Department said.The victim was"walking down the street," holding hands with the 5-year-old and carrying the infant when"a male approached him and fired several times," FitzGerald said.

The incident marks the third time a person has been shot and killed in the nation's capital in front of children this year.
