Absolute Power is about to take over DC Comics for the next few months, including August, when the publisher will release its second wave of titles tying into the event. But while the main series will focus on Waller as she brings the metahumans to heel, Absolute Power: Origins #2 continues to dig into her past.
The miniseries' second issue by John Ridley, Alitha Martinez, and Norm Rapmund will take another look at Waller's history, including her first time running Task Force X. The issue's solicitation also promises a "shocking revelation" sure to change the Suicide Squad's history for good.Throughout the Dawn of DC, Amanda Waller has been waiting in the shadows, cooking up plans to take out the metahumans of the DC Universe.
It's hard to imagine what kind of secret could change the way fans look at Amanda Waller or the Suicide Squad. Task Force X is one of the most heinous teams in the world and is responsible for several hundred deaths. Not to mention Waller's ledger is full of blood and she's about to imprison heroes on a scale that's never been seen before. It's unlikely that there's something from her past that could actually shock DC readers at this point.
