Carley McCord was among five people killed in the plane crash, according to her husband, Steve Ensminger Jr.
Carley McCord, the 34-year-old sports broadcaster married to the son of LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, died Saturday in a plane crashwhere the Tigers were to play Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
McCord worked as a freelance broadcaster, serving various television networks, including Cox Sports Television, ESPN3 and WDSU in New Orleans. She was born in Baton Rouge. A two-engine Piper Cheyenne crashed about 1 mile from the Lafayette Regional Airport, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro said.
