Dark Horse is releasing Black Hammer: The End, a six-issue event that doubles as a dramatic finale for the mystery that initially grabbed comic fans in 2016. The series begins August 30, from JeffLemire and MalachiWard.

In an exclusive with Comicbook.com, Dark Horse revealed a look at Black Hammer: The End, a new six-issue miniseries from Jeff Lemire and Malachi Ward. The new event series picks up where the previous miniseries, Black Hammer: Reborn, left off. Lucy Webber, the titular Black Hammer has reunited with her family, and now the very fabric of the universe is coming apart at the seams.

The first run was a mystery that centered around a group of superheroes that were trapped on a strange farm after fighting an evil cosmic entity known as the Anti-God.
But now, after nearly seven years, the saga of Black Hammer is coming to a close, at least that's how it seems at first. If there's one thing that Lemire has done with his series, it's lampoon and satirize various aspects of the comic book industry. Many of his characters and teams are quite similar to existing properties such as the Unbelievable Unteens being inspired by Uncanny X-Men.
Black Hammer: The End - Dark Horse's Crisis on Infinite Earths? Lemire and Black Hammer's other co-creators have used the series to satirize many things about comics, but one subject they've yet to touch is reboots brought on by a dramatic event . While Black Hammer: The End could just as well be the final chapter in the saga that Lemire has planned, it could also be the start of a new era for the franchise.
