Daredevil has abandoned his civilian identity, taking his mission to violent new extremes against Frank Castle's ninja army. Now, in order to conquer the Hand, the Man Without Fear admits he's willing to kill their leader, the Punisher.
Warning: Spoilers for Daredevil #8!When facing one of the world's deadliest vigilantes in an all-out war, Daredevil outright admits that the only way he's going to come out on top is to break his "no killing" rule. Matt Murdock is one of Marvel’s most effective street-level superheroes due to his 360-degree radar sense, extensive martial arts training, and willingness to fight even when he’s sorely underpowered.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In Daredevil #8 by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto, "The Red Fist Saga" continues with a massive battle between Daredevil’s army of reformed supervillains , and the Hand’s undead, homicidal ninja clan, led by the Punisher. Amidst the chaos, Frank Castle is able to slice out one of Matt’s eyes with his sword. Daredevil, however, still gains the upper hand on the Punisher and pins him to the ground, completely at the mercy of the Man Without Fear.
Although Daredevil chooses to save Elektra rather than deliver on his threat in this issue, he likely still wishes to kill the Punisher, as he wouldn't announce that he’s breaking his “no killing” rule without truly meaning it. Daredevil has killed in the past, most famously his arch nemesis Bullseye in Shadowland #1 by Andy Diggle and Billy Tan, and several of Kingpin’s henchmen in Daredevil: The Man Without Fear #4 by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.
Daredevil's First Kill Will Change Him Forever If Daredevil succeeds in his ultimate goal, it will mark a huge turning point for the character that could potentially set him down a dark path from which he may never return. In his current state, he’s already at odds with many of Marvel’s superheroes.
