) - There’s only two days left to support Daphne East Elementary’s Autism fundraiser. The school has been buzzing all month with activities aimed at raising awareness for autism.
“So in 2016 I wanted to spread autism awareness and acceptance throughout the school,” said Lacey Faciane. “And we do a variety of events. So, change for autism – kind of came up with the name because I like the play on words. So, I decided that’s kind of what we were going to do.” She says they raised over $6,000 last year and a whopping total of more than $25,000 over the years. The fundraising effort encourages kids to scour their homes for spare change, leading to some amusing discoveries.
