Check out an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek from PressPlay, a new romance from TheAvenue_Film, starring clararugaard, Lewis Pullman & the iconic Danny Glover:
Screen Rant can exclusively present a clip from the new time traveling romance Press Play, which arrives in theaters June 24 from The Avenue and is set to be available simultaneously on Digital and On Demand. The new movie stars Clara Rugaard and Lewis Pullman as star-crossed lovers, with Lyrica Okano as a best friend and sister respectively, and the iconic Danny Glover as a wise record shop owner who knows his way around love and music.
Press Play was directed by Greg Björkman, who worked as assistant editor on The Fault in Our Stars, in his feature film directorial debut. It was also co-written by him and James Bachelor , showcasing a deep passion for the intricate story and the art of filmmaking at large. The film follows Laura and Harrison 's picture-perfect romance and shared love of music, complete with an old-fashioned mixtape full of modern music.
As is clear from the poster shown below, Press Play is heavily invested in the music that is used to help convey its love story. Its fantastic soundtrack includes songs by Japanese Breakfast, Father John Misty, Dayglow and much more, all carefully cultivated by writer-director Greg Björkman and the creative team to do justice to the winding yet wonderful tale of Laura and Harrison.
Other recent films from The Avenue include The Misfits, starring Pierce Brosnan as a brilliant international thief alongside Nick Cannon and Jamie Chung as members of a band of modern-day Robin Hoods. They also released The Tiger Rising earlier this year, based on the New York Times best-selling book by Kate DiCamillo, which stars Queen Latifah and Dennis Quaid.
