This is one of the five new Daihatsu concepts that will be exhibited at the Japan Mobility Show
Daihatsu announced its five-member concept lineup for the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo, with the highlight being the Vision Copen. Interestingly, the concept is not a kei car, but a compact sports convertible inheriting the DNA of the smaller Copen. The Daihatsu Vision Copen looks like a modernized and beefier version of the first-generation Copen that debuted back in 2002, with round lighting units and similar surfacing.
Overall, both the exterior and the interior of the Vision Copen look closer to a production model rather than a futuristic design study, making us believe that Daihatsu could be considering entering the compact sportscar segment. This is also supported by the fact that under the bonnet lies a 1.3-liter engine sending power to the rear axle.
