Cypress teen on $4M bail targeted kids leaving school with dangerous pellet gun, prosecutors say
The Harris County Criminal Justice Center, 1201 Franklin St., is shown Monday, June 28, 2021 in Houston.A 17-year-old accused of firing a pellet gun seemingly at random at other children in northwest Harris County must remain on $4 million bail, a judge ruled Tuesday, upholding the high rate a magistrate had previously set.
Deputies determined the shootings on May 4, 5 and 8 had all happened soon after school ended for the day. Within days, they found a home on Garden Landing Drive, near Fry Road, with a wooden platform that appeared to be nicked by pellet holes from a possible shooter, according to prosecutors. During a search of the home, deputies encountered Jordan Balderas and arrested him on four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
