Freshman Amayah Garcia scored a game-high 18 points while three others finished in double figures and DeSoto defeated Cypress Springs 66-34 to advance to its fourth regional title game in five years. “In this time of the year, you just survive the night,” DeSoto coach Andrea Robinson said. “You’re never happy but you just want to win and move on. …I’m proud of this team because we’re young and a lot of people were unsure if we could survive. But our thing this year has just really been about greatness never graduates. We’re really working hard to maintain a culture of greatness.”
