Cuba rejects latest US restrictions on travel to the island stressing its support for Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro is 'not negotiable'
The"Empress of the Seas", a Bahamas-flagged vessel owned by the US Royal Caribbean which became the last cruise of a US company to touch the Cuban port following the new US sanctions against the island, leaves from Havana, on June 5, 2019.
"Cuba's solidarity with the constitutional President Nicolas Maduro Moros, the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution and the civil-military union of its people, is not negotiable," it said. Among the reasons given by the US State Department for the latest action was Cuba's "interference in Venezuela, and its direct role in the man-made crisis led by Nicolas Maduro.""The most notorious is the slanderous accusation that Cuba intervenes militarily in Venezuela, a lie that has been publicly and consistently rejected by the Cuban government."
