The Adams administration has quietly tapped a City Council member’s wife and another top Bronx Democratic supporter to fill two, high-ranking, $177,000-a-year Parks Department jobs, The Post has learned.
Both Salamanca and Perez campaigned heavily for Eric Adams during his successful 2021 mayoral run, helping him lock up key Hispanic voting bases, especially in the Bronx, according to multiple sources. Aponte previously earned $104,874 as chief of staff to the department’s assistant commissioner for urban park service. Aponte,saw her yearly Parks Department earnings skyrocket 68% after being bumped up to Bronx commissioner.
