The drill was in partnership with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and Duval County School Police.
“While we pray that we never have an active shooter incident in our city it’s important that we test our tactical and technical readiness,” Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said. “Our kids our most important commodity in this community.” It took place at Atlantic Coast High School. Officials said the school was chosen because it’s big enough to accommodate the number of people participating in the drill.
