JUST IN: An officer was injured and a passenger in the truck involved was transported to the hospital with serious facial injuries, JSO said.
JSO said around 1 p.m. the road was shut down between Loan Star Road and Craig Boulevard following the traffic accident.
JSO said two patrol vehicles were driving to a priority call southbound on St. Johns Bluff Blvd. with emergency equipment activated. At the same time, a Toyota Tundra driving was northbound on St. Johns Bluff Rd N. and failed to yield as he attempted to turn left into the convenient store at the intersection of Lonestar Road, JSO said, and the truck was struck by the second patrol vehicle as he made the turn.
The driver of the truck and the police officer were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The passenger in the truck was transported to the hospital with serious facial injuries, JSO said.
