"It is a big yellow flag in the end," said Pete Bigelow, a senior reporter with Automotive News who specializes in autonomous vehicle reporting. "It is a vote for the status quo. A yellow flag because there is problems with ongoing operations in the city." The CPUC told ABC7 News a commissioner requested the postponement but didn't offer any details why. Bigelow believes the delay is due to companies Cruise and Waymo not providing enough data to the CPUC. ABC7 has documents"The City of San Francisco in particular, is looking for data on these incidents and they are not getting exactly what they want," Bigelow said.

In a June CPUC meeting, representatives from Cruise and Waymo were not able to provide data on "MRCs" or minimal risk conditions when asked by the board.
