Dallas had only four wide receivers in uniform Sunday: CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin. Noah Brown was inactive because of a foot injury. James Washington has yet to make his season debut, still working back from an Aug. 1 foot fracture during training camp. “We’ll just see,” Jones said. “We will see. I like what we did today with our four dressed tight ends. That actually gives us a way to go in terms of where the numbers are, and we’ve got Washington coming back. We like Tolbert.
“My point is, we don’t have to do anything. But if it raises its head and it’s right, then we’ll do something.”Jones said the former Pittsburgh Steelers deep threat is “getting right there” to be physically ready to begin a 21-day practice window. “Now, we know, as we watched frankly how these receivers come back,” Jones said, “they’ve got to get the mental aspect of it and get comfortable with their cuts. But he’s getting real close.”Turpin also wasn’t targeted, but he rushed for an 11-yard gain on an end-around pitch.
