FIVE provinces were tagged by OCTA Research for having 'very high' Covid-19 positivity rate as of July 15, breaching the 20 percent mark.Aklan recorded a positivity rate of 31.9 percent from 26.9 percent on July 9. Tarlac also posted a significant increase in Covid-19 positivity rate from 16.7 percent to 27.5 percent.The positivity rate in Pampanga was at 23.5 percent, 22.9 percent in Nueva Ecija, and 22.5 percent in Laguna.

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region, Antique, Batangas, Bulacan, Capiz, Cavite, Iloilo, Isabela, Pangasinan, and Rizal also recorded Covid-19 positivity rates of over 10 percent on July 15.The World Health Organization set the benchmark of Covid-19 positivity to 5 percent to indicate that the infection is under control.OCTA Research Fellow Dr. Guido David, in a tweet on Sunday, advised the public to practice necessary caution to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.
